Dick Tracy, The Shadow, Sam Spade...
Hard-boiled crime-fighters chasing hard-boiled criminals.
I love those old crime noir films. I suspect Skurkarna does, too. Judging by their music, they live in those cool old reels of celluloid.
Skurkarna is from Gothenburg, Sweden. They call their unique brand of music Crime-Rock ... and the label fits. If I were making a noir gumshoe movie, Skurkarna's A Crimewave Escapade would be my first pick for the soundtrack. Hey, if the gumshoe fits...
The cast of characters are:
Rufus - guitar
Clyde - bass
Ralph - drums
Clemens - alibi & voice control
A Crimewave Escapade is 12 tracks of bad-ass mayhem. It's an all-instrumental album that brings back the days of dark alleys, sleazy bad guys and cynical gumshoes. It's film noir music with a modern edge.
A Crimewave Escapade combines excellent style, superb musicianship and great imagination into villainous acts of delinquency. Skurkarna must have met Dick Tracy's 'Rogues Gallery' somewhere in time because they sure are in touch with them.
Watch out Gothenburg City. Watch out Sweden. Watch out Europe. Watch out World. These bad guys of crime have mayhem on their minds ... and A Crimewave Escapade has criminal intent written all over it. It's meaner than a gang of bad-tempered henchmen and cooler than a double shot of whiskey on ice. It's bad-ass crime noir to the freakin' bone.
Skurkarna has graciously allowed me to include a player so that you can hear A Crimewave Escapade for yourself. All 12 tracks, in their entirety, are ready to play. Check it out. Be sure to visit Skurkarna's Bandcamp page for additional information.
