North of Malibu: All Instrumental Surf/Rock Band

North of Malibu is an all instrumental Surf/Rock band from the Sonoma Coast in Northern California. It's moniker pays homage to the many cold water surfers of NorCal, which include their own lead guitarist Proton.

Formed in 2005 by guitarist George "Proton" Boccanfuso (also a veteran of Surf music's "first wave" fronted the Surf band "Rip Curl" in 1964), North of Malibu delivers traditional Surf music with a contemporary Rock & Roll edge. "A clever balance of Reverb and Rock."

Last summer saw the addition of guitarist/producer Harry Gale from Route 44 Studios and veteran bassist Dann Walters. They have since rounded out the NoM roster with powerhouse drummer Eddie Reuter. This power-packed new lineup promises to deliver a fiery new album soon.
